Convey Law Staff Walk from Newport to Cardiff to Raise Funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK
On 21st June, 10 volunteers from team Convey walked 11.5 miles from our Newport Office to the Dementia Research Institute in Cardiff, to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK. It was an extremely sunny day and the team did very well, blisters and all!
Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity, dedicated to causes, diagnosis, prevention, treatment and cure. It is estimated that 944,000 people are living with dementia in the UK. All donations from this charity walk will help further the research for dementia.
Thank you to Phill Edwards, Sophie Carey, Chelsea Carey, Alex Harris, Jessie Bishop, Rowan Connell, Jess Smith, Nicola Lancaster, Lloyd Davies and Kath Jones for volunteering your time to help raise funds for this important charity.
Members of staff in the office were given an orange each, as not only are these healthy snacks but they also support awareness of Alzheimer’s Research’s #ShareTheOrange campaign! The orange represents the weight loss of the brain of a person affected by Alzheimer’s, that is a loss of 140g.
A total of £15,550 was raised through Charity Lotto funds and the volunteers Just Giving page. All funds raised will allow the 90k PhD Students to continue their research, projects and the important work that is being done to understand the disease further. Well done team!
Thank you to all of our wonderful customers who have donated to the Charity Lotto!
