Ty Hafan’s Ride to the Rugby
On 28th January 2019, fifty cyclists set off for the Ride to the Rugby to raise money for children’s hospice charity, Ty Hafan. The four day, 320 mile cycling challenge saw riders depart from the Principality Stadium in Cardiff and arrive at the Stade de France in Paris in time for the Wales v France Six Nations opening match. James Smith bravely undertook the challenge on behalf of Convey Law and the Conveyancing Foundation. James even enjoyed a brief cameo on BBC Two’s Scrum V report on the challenge with ex-rugby star Phillippa Tuttiett.
The charity cyclists endured long days in harsh weather conditions with temperatures regularly dropping below freezing. However, great friendships and camaraderie prevailed with the help of a couple of operatic numbers from Go-Compare star, Wyn Evans. The team rode into Paris on Friday 1st February, in time for an exhilarating Frances v Wales Six Nations showdown.
Ty Hafan’s Ride to the Ruby raised in excess of £40,000 for the charity. These funds are essential in allowing the charity to continue to offer comfort, care and support to life-limited children.
