Convey Law Recruitment Boost in 2016
We are launching a recruitment drive which will boost its workforce by 30 percent, thanks to the buoyant property market and optimistic outlook for 2016.
Specialist residential conveyancing lawyers Convey Law, based in New-port City Centre, has posts available for 25 Paralegals and Junior Conveyancers in 2016, taking its current workforce to over 100 staff for the first time.
Convey Law, one of the largest specialist conveyancing firms in the UK, was recently voted “One to Watch” in the Sunday Times Best 100 Com-panies in the UK to work for in 2015 and also became the first UK conveyancing company to achieve a Gold Investors in People Accredita-tion in 2015.
Both accolades were given largely as as a result of high quality in-house training and development programmes at Convey Law. The company has developed the first online paralegal course for Conveyancers in conjunc-tion with the Conveyancing Association, which is made up of the top 50 Conveyancers in the UK.
Convey Law is now recruiting legal graduates and paralegals to train to be Conveyancers within 18-24 months. As specialist Licensed Conveyancers, Convey Law are able to train new recruits to qualify as fully qualified Licensed Conveyancers within 24 months, alongside their work. Qualification times can be even quicker, depending on experience and academic qualifications. The company has a long history of training and retaining staff with the majority of Directors and Senior Conveyancers at the company promoted ‘through the ranks’. Their commitment to training and development was recognised at the Modern Law Awards 2015.
Employees at Convey Law can expect a published salary structure, which is reviewed as they progress, and a host of additional health and welfare benefits from quarterly bonus payments and subsidised parking to private health insurance.
Over the last 18 months, Convey Law have won a plethora of conveyancing awards, including the coveted Sunday Times Best Conveyancer Award.
Charity fundraising plays a significant part in the culture of the company, with over £300,000 raised for charity in the last five years. In 2015, Con-vey Law staff member Geraint Aubrey helped raise more than £50,000 by taking on the Matterhorn Challenge, scaling four mountains in the Swiss Alps to raise money for Welsh children’s charity, Ty Hafan.
Managing Director of Convey Law, Lloyd Davies, who is also Operations Director of the Conveyancing Association and the Chairman of the Conveyancing Foundation commented:
“Our Training and Development team at Convey Law have worked hard over the course of the last 24 months to put in place a structure where we can train graduates and paralegals into Junior Conveyancing roles within a very short period of time.
“Convey Law is a very progressive environment, we provide clear guid-ance to everyone who works here as to how to progress and achieve the career and salaries that they want to achieve. Every individual has a be-spoke Learning Development Plan, which is constantly monitored to en-sure that they are achieving their career objectives.
“We are looking to recruit up to 25 new Paralegals, who will ultimately become Junior Conveyancers, over the course of 2016. The first five re-cruits arrived in January and we are now recruiting for start dates in March, July and September. There are also positions for Conveyancers and Senior Conveyancers including positions for those who would like to take up supervisory and managerial roles.
“This is an exciting time for Convey Law and the conveyancing industry. Six new Junior Conveyancers moved into our ‘conveyancing nursery’ this year, where they learn their trade. Each one of them has their own caseload, which is directly supervised and audited by a Senior Conveyancer. By the end of the next 12 months, we expect these individuals to qualify as Licensed Conveyancers, to be working with an assistant Paralegal and to achieve the appropriate salary increase.
He added: “We’re keen to hear from enthusiastic potential recruits wishing to star an exciting legal career.”
