On Saturday 16 August, colleagues, friends, families, and their four-legged companions came together at Kenfig Nature Reserve for our very first Waggy Tails Walk, championed by Jess Smith. The event was a joyful celebration of community spirit, complete with a coastal walk, a bake sale, and plenty of wagging tails.

The day began with a scenic 5k stroll along the coast, with dogs and owners enjoying the fresh air, sunshine, and even a paddle in the sea. After the walk, everyone gathered for homemade treats at our bake sale, where over 75 Welsh cakes were sold alongside an array of bakes, raising extra funds for the cause. The day ended just as it began – in good company – with refreshments and laughter in the sunshine.

Supporting the MS Society

This August, we are fundraising for the MS Society with a target of £5,000 to help power their vital work. The charity is especially close to our hearts through Jess Smith, who nominated the MS Society after caring for her father who has lived with Multiple Sclerosis for over 15 years.

“The MS Society and the vital work they do is a subject very close to my heart. I’ve witnessed first-hand the incredible work of the volunteers, researchers, and medical teams. They support people newly diagnosed, those living with MS, and continue to fight for a cure that could change the lives of over 150,000 people in the UK.” – Jess Smith, Operations Director at Convey Law

Earlier this month, Jess and her father visited the MS Society’s research facility at Swansea University, meeting researchers and PHD students working on groundbreaking treatments such as “remyelination,” which aims to regrow the protective nerve sheaths damaged by MS. The visit was an inspiring reminder of the incredible difference fundraising makes.

Our Fundraising Impact

We’re delighted to share that the Waggy Tails Walk has already raised over £600 through our JustGiving page. With the support of our Charity Lotto initiative, we are on track to reach our £5,000 fundraising goal for the MS Society.

On Thursday 28 August, we held a raffle with a hamper of goodies for both humans and pets, generously donated by our colleagues and partners. Thanks to everyone who took part, we raised £185 for the MS Society! Congratulations to our winner, Laura Burkinshaw.

Thank You

A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who walked, donated, baked, or cheered us on. We have not only enjoyed a wonderful day of sunshine, smiles, and wagging tails but also taken real steps toward improving the lives of people affected by MS.

You can still support the campaign and help us reach our target by donating through our JustGiving page.
