This year, we served as headline sponsors for the second consecutive year of Alzheimer’s Research UK’s Walk for a Cure – Cardiff 2025, the only event of its kind in Wales. Our support and participation in 2025 helped raise £57,456, contributing to a two-year total of £89,814 to fund life-changing research and bring hope to families affected by dementia.

ARUK Walk for a Cure Cardiff

The event took place on Sunday 13 July 2025, where we walked together as a team at Pontcanna Fields, Cardiff, raising funds and awareness for dementia research on a gloriously sunny day. The 5k accessible walk brought together our colleagues and their families, with Charity Champion Joe Norris leading the way.

Hear it from our Charity Champion, Joseph Norris:

“We are proud to sponsor Walk for a Cure, Cardiff, a cause that holds deep personal meaning for me, as my grandmother suffers from this debilitating disease. So, it’s my way of helping support research so others don’t have to live through it with their loved ones in the future. It brings together individuals and families affected by it, creating a strong sense of community and shared purpose. Events like these not only raise much-needed awareness and support but also unite volunteers and supporters in a collective journey toward finding a cure.”

ARUK Lunch & Learn at Maxwell Chambers

On 24 July 2025, we welcomed Ceri Smith the Regional Fundraising Officer for Wales, Alzheimer’s Research UK, to Maxwell Chambers for an inspiring Lunch & Learn session as part of our Happy Day. The event gave our team the opportunity to hear more about the vital work of Alzheimer’s Research UK and their bold vision for the future.

They are the leading charity dedicated to finding a cure for dementia. Their mission is to ensure that everyone has access to life-changing new treatments, diagnoses come earlier and with greater accuracy, and fewer people ever have to face the diseases that cause dementia.

As part of the day, we hosted a raffle with prizes kindly donated by ARUK charity partners and our colleagues. In total, we raised £5,883.75 throughout July, including £242.00 from this charity raffle.

In Partnership with Alzheimer’s Research UK

We are grateful to Alzheimer’s Research UK for recognising our ongoing support through both Walk for a Cure and our Charity Lotto initiative.

Here’s what Ceri said about this partnership:

“We’re grateful to Convey Law for their generous support of Alzheimer’s Research UK through their charity lottery. The funds raised help drive scientific breakthroughs and support public education – both vital in the fight against Alzheimer’s. Their commitment to making a difference brings hope to the millions of people and families affected by dementia.” – Ceri Smith, Regional Fundraising Officer for Wales, Alzheimer’s Research UK

Looking Ahead

We are committed to supporting Alzheimer’s Research UK in their mission to find a cure and to building a future where fewer families face the impact of dementia, as well as standing alongside other charities making a real difference. Our colleagues are at the heart of this effort, taking on the role of Charity Champions to lead fundraising, raise awareness, and support the causes that matter most to them.
